The People at B A Sound
The Boss
Bernard was born in Rhodesia, where he trained as an electronics engineer when valves were hot. After serving in the Rhodesian Air Force developing radio communications, he returned to civvies and worked for Supasonic, the local manufacturers of domestic electronic gizmos. Nearly thirty years ago he moved to Durban, did a stint at Conlog, then took the plunge and opened his own business. From small beginnings in the garage at home, he has developed his business into an essential resource for the recording and broadcast industry in Kwa Zulu Natal. His knowledge of the nuts and bolts (and valves, capacitors and integrated circuits) of the equipment he sells is encyclopaedic, and his long-term experience can put together the most complex of studio and PA systems.
Sales & Marketing
Allison is a pom, brought up in Portugal, speaks Portuguese, German and French as well as English (!) and has extensive marketing and sales experience. After fifteen years at BA Sound, her product knowledge is vast, and she excels at drawing out customers so they can receive the best advice on any given subject. Her bright and breezy telephone greetings are legendary, and people often call just to get a smile put on their faces. Try it and see!
